True Pupil

Once Saint Gyaneshwar was delivering a Pravachan in a village. It was a three-day affair. After the end of the third day, a lady came to Rishi and said that your Pravachan was of no good to me. For as it didn’t do any benefit to me. After listening to her voice Rishi smiled and move his head in agreeable directions and so than the lady left.

The very next day a beggar came to Rishi and asked for food. Rishi took the beggar to the lady's house and told the beggar to go and ask for food and jewellery that she owns for only one day. The beggar did the same as he was told but after giving the food, the lady refused to give her jewellery to the beggar and asked him to leave. Beggar left and came back to Rishi and narrated the incident, after listening to the beggar now Rishi went to see the lady.

When he reached there the lady was busy, but listening to the voice of Rishi she came running by and provided him with proper welcome. Before Rishi could say anything she offered her food. Then Rishi asked her for her jewellery for one day. she didn’t move her eyelids and in one go she gave all of them to the Rishi. Then the Saint smiled and ask the woman why did she deny the beggar for the same. the lady replied,” he was not worth it as he shows no sign of trustiness and I don’t know whether he really needs it or just was here to take my jewellery”.

Rishi smiled and replied “same go with the God my child. You should show some admiration, respect, hard effort, belief and put your soul into the work and then ask God for help and you will be blessed. If you only ask for the thing that you can’t use skilfully then why would your caretaker provide you with that? Be a true pupil of your ” And after that, the lady understood her mistake.

So the word is that we just blame our luck and God for our procrastinating and incapable attitude, but we should first put all the effort and prove ourselves worthy for the title then we don’t have to ask for it rather we will get it automatically because what we are now getting is up to our capabilities, if you raise the bar for yourself you will get the thing according to your limits. Face value measurement only works in human judgement, go for the core and always try to increase it. Be a true pupil of yourself and your work.

Then, before asking for more, measure your limits (if they fall short, raze yourself up) and you will not be denied in any court.
