It is not what you look at that matters, but what you see

Everything, good or bad, depends on, how we perceive and how we accept it. Einstein’s concept of ‘Relativity plays a vital role in each and every field. A particular thing may be bad for ‘X’, at the same time; it may be good for ‘Y’. For example- A knife in the hand of a dacoit may take away a life, while, the same knife in the hand of a doctor may save a life. Hence, the particular knife need not be subject of blame or fame. Rather, it is the user, who plays an important role in earning evil reputation or noble reputation for the same knife. An ordinary onlooker may look at the knife in a bad sense but if an individual with a very positive and constructive mindset, becomes inquisitive. She/he will see only good and better with that knife.

This world is the sum and substance of action and reaction or cause and effect (Karma and its result). “To every action, there is opposite and equal reaction”, it is not the Newton’s third law of motion, it is the law of universe or the law of nature. One’s own deed or Karma is regulated by one’s own mentality. Rainy season may be bad for the cricketer or a cricket lover or for a third party but, without rain, there can be no agriculture, no crop/ grain nor food for us. So, we need not look at the rainy season in a negative eye, rather we should see the rainy reason in a very constructive or positive way, as it causes for food production.

There is also a story about this. That there were three workmen who were entrusted with the task of breaking the stone into chips to be utilized in bridge construction across the river, where they were working. A passer-by (visitor), who happened to meet them. That visitor asked the first labour, “What are you doing?”. The reply was, “Don’t you see. I am engaged in this arduous nature of job of breaking hard stone in the hot summer” and getting exhausted.

To the same question the reply from 2nd worker was “I am busy in converting stone in to chip for use in bridge construction”. Whereas, the reply from the 3rd worker to the same question was, I am grateful to God Almighty for having offered me a chance to serve in such a noble work for connecting the population in two sides of the river in this bridge making process that would be a great help to the people at large. From this example, it is crystal clear that it is not a thing what we look at, rather what we see in it or how we accept it. The sun ray falls on the water of the Ganga and the drain water that also ultimately goes in to the river Ganga, but it collects the good elements (pure water vapour) from both the types of water

Similarly, there are many instances that several hardcore criminals/dacoits/mankillers have  been converted into saints at the instances of some noble souls. Maharshi Valmiki in Ramayana who was converted into a saint from dacoit, Ratnaker at the instance of Devarshi Narada, the God-saint of heaven. Emperior Asoka, after kalinga war renounced war/violence forever at the instance of Buddhist Monk, Upagupta and embressed piece and non-violence. dacoit Makhen in Chambal valley was impressed upon the personality of Jaiprakash Narayan and surrendered to police. Presently, many hardcore Maoist leaders with evil criminal records/reputation are being motivated by some intellectuals, senior citizens/statesmen/bureaucrats and making themselves surrendered to the law/police/State.  Similarly, many students after education join philanthropic organisations for social service. Even many IAS/IPS officers have become social-public figures at the instances of some ideal personality.  Netaji left the coveted ICS service during pre-independence era and joined the freedom movement. And there are a lot of examples that many students had joined freedom movement at the instances of Gandhiji leaving their education, career, family even life.
