World war, Cold war, or Election war? No, it's the Telecom war of the generation between Mr. Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio and the rest networks. Since the launch of free services by the newcomer Reliance Jio, telecom giants like Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL, Idea, Reliance Mobile, etc have been updating their plans regularly to retain customers. But Jio's other twist to offer free services has forced other networks to provide data and call services at a cheaper rate.
Airtel added a few new plans for around 400-500 ₹ which offer daily data and unlimited calls for a couple of months. Vodafone Idea and other networks have also launched similar plans to retain their customers but have failed to do so. What were they doing earlier? Why now? And they have certain limitations in their plans in terms of call and data which is less as compared to Jio and no free SMS as well which can be neglected but not often. Volte users are preferring Jio mostly because of unlimited plans while some LTE, 3G, and other users still are using Airtel, Vodafone, etc.
It has been a major competition in the telecom industry of India in a decade where surprisingly Airtel, the largest operator of the country has gone down in its shares as well as customers, and Vodafone & Idea were forced to merge. They have numerous approaches to stop Jio from attracting customers but ultimately people are getting benefited from Jio's services which is the viewpoint finally. So the point is that if you are doing business for customers then you will succeed but if you are doing it for yourself then you will never because for a real businessman customer is the god, not money.
